Mourning Doves at 1025 — the second nesting
Discovered on May 14 at 2 PM, on the garage-door opener over Marian's car. The nest and eggs had obviously been there since the beginning of May or earlier. The first two squabs (chicks) left the nest May 18th or 19th. (The smallest didn't survive — snatched by a hawk.) I removed the nest, cleaned the area, and sprayed it with Lysol. A few days later, the elder dove was back, building a nest on the garage door opener over MY car. This time only one egg hatched, and I photographed parent and squab on June 16th (the last six photos). As of June 17th, they have flown the coop.
