The Isaac Stern Auditorium seats 2,804. The name recognizes efforts by violinist Isaac Stern in 1997 to save the hall from demolition in the 1960s. The hall is enormously high, and visitors to the top balcony must climb 137 steps. All but the top level can be reached by elevator.
