Hradcanythe Prague Castle and St. Vitas Cathedralis the goal of this walk on my first full (and a very cold and gray) day in Prague.
Entering Wallenstein Palace and gardens.

Wending our way through the streets of Mala Strana (the lesser town) on the way up to the castle.
On the way up, St.Nicholas Church of Mala Strana.
Going up to Hradcany.
Looking back down to where we started.
Still on the way up.
Looking back down over the city.
Dancing House by Frank Gehry is dead center. The left building is a woman; a man on the right.
At the castle forecourt. Milos Forman filmed much of Amadeus in front of and in the buildings in the background.
St. Vitas exterior.
The facade was finished in the 20th century. The architects had themselves sculpted and memorialized on the facade, here holding a model of the cathedral.

Same window, closer up.
St. Vitas exterior and clocktower.
There are two clocks: the upper one shows only the hours; the lower one shows only the minutes.
Changing of the Castle Guard.
We've left the castle and are walking back down the hill. Now a cafe, this was originally a wood house belonging to one of the workers on the castle construction.
This is the smallest legal building parcel in Prague. Once a separate house, it's only door is blocked off and it is connected to the house on the left. The next photo follows the man walking up the lane.
Narrow lane, houses both sides. Road curves to right ...
... the to left. Building at the top is now a European Union administrative headquarters.
Looking down to the River Moldau.
St. Nicholas Church of Lesser Town. High Baroque. Here come da sun.
